The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad Rather today chaired a meeting of officers to discuss and devise the effective mechanism for proper implementation of Aspirational Panchayat Development Programme (APDP) in the district.
During the meeting, an effective mechanism for its proper implementation and timely collection of data and other aspects of APDP were discussed.
At the outset of the meeting, JDP Zahid Sajad gave a detailed overview about the APDP and its significance in future planning of least performing panchayats.
He further informed that Administrative Council has already accorded sanction to APDP in 285 most backward panchayats (one panchayat per block) as aspirational panchayats in the UT of J&K with the aim to improve and uplift the socio-economic development scenario of these panchayats on selected parameters through convergence and additional financial support.
A detailed discussion was held on all parameters pertaining to various departments under different categories including basic infrastructure, environment, Governance, skill development and other developmental parameters of the panchayats.
ADDC impressed upon all the departments that realistic and authentic data should be collected on identified indicators and best possible efforts should be put in place while collecting the data and the whole exercise should be completed within days.
