The Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani and Camp Director Base Camp Baltal, Ghan Shyam Singh today convened a meeting with the transporters and discussed range of issues related to transport facilities provided to the devotees.
The meeting was attended by various representatives of transport associations and other officials from Civil and Police.
The meeting discussed various issues related to transport facilities at Baltal including adherence to notified rates, timing, parking, and other related issues.
While deliberating on the issues, ADDC urged them to ensure the rates notified already shall be adhered to strictly, besides the vehicle coming from other stands shall not be allowed to stop in the bus stand Baltal who are charging rates arbitrarily from the devotees.
Police department was asked to keep close watch on such drivers who are overcharging the devotees, besides transporters were also directed to identify such drivers who are not adhering to the notified rates so that they can be dealt with strictly.
Meanwhile, the ADDC complemented the transporters for providing the smooth transport facilities to the pilgrims since the commencement of yatra.
He urged them to work with the same temperament and enthusiasm till the culmination of yatra and further enhance the transportation facilities in order to ensure better facilities to yatries.
He also assured them all support and cooperation during the yatra period.
