Under the Mission Youth programme for the revitalisation of youth clubs, the district administration organised a mega job fair titled ‘Aarohan- Vibrant Youth Vibrant Samba’ to provide job and self-employment opportunities to local youths. The event was held at the Conference Hall of the DC office in Samba.
Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta inaugurated the job fair in which youth from across the Samba district participated enthusiastically and availed benefits from departments as well as private companies’ job offers.
More than 15 private companies, including Jio, SBI, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, Cycle Works and Life Insurance Corporation participated in the fair and shortlisted over 100 candidates for various posts.
Anuradha Gupta spoke about various government-sponsored schemes for self-employment, including Mumkin, Tejaswini, Spurring Entrepreneurship and Customised Livelihood Generation Scheme for Dental Professionals. She also mentioned the Tourist Villages Development Programme and urged officials to reach out to youths and raise awareness about these schemes.
The Deputy Commissioner also provided updates on the recently concluded DYTE programme and announced that four candidates had been selected as Agniveers while 100 candidates had cleared physical exams for BSF and CRPF recruitment.
Six beneficiaries were provided with subsidised vehicles under the Mumkin Scheme by the Department of Employment. A pledge ceremony on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was also undertaken by participants.
The event was attended by ADDC, Rajinder Singh, PO ICDS, Joginder Jasrotia and ADC Samba, Rakesh Dubey besides other officials from various departments.
