AAP MP: Raghav Chadha, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday in response to claims of “forged signatures” made by five Rajya Sabha MPs. He tasked the BJP with displaying the document on which they allege the forged signatures were made.
In the Rajya Sabha, Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused five MPs of fraud after they claimed that their names were included in a motion introduced by Chadha in the House without their permission. The MPs in question were S Phangnon Konyak of the BJP, M Thambidurai of the AIADMK, and Sasmit Patra of the BJD.
In the nation’s capital, Chadha added, “I challenge the BJP leaders to bring the paper on which forged signatures were done.”
“But a lie was spread that forged signatures were done,” he continued. He also urged the media to present the facts and threatened to sue a tiny group of journalists who were spreading false information about him.
“I ask that the truth be reported by the media. I will have to complain about a small group of the media that were spreading false information about me. The MPs who asserted that the signatures were faked will also be the subject of a complaint I must make to the Court and Privileges Committee, he continued.
“The BJP’s mantra is to tell a lie 1,000 times to make it sound like the truth. The BJP floated this false narrative that signatures were forged,” he added.
Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, stated yesterday in the Rajya Sabha that two MPs (BJD MP Sasmit Patra and BJP MP Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi) claim they did not sign the resolution (to be a part of the select committee) moved by AAP MP Raghav Chadha. Now, the method through which the motion was signed is under investigation.
