A next-to-the-impossible operation at high altitude and -15 degree temperature was led by Beacon and Indian Army to bring the two bodies to Tangdar so that their families can perform their last rites, and by the grace of almighty Allah, it was successful.

A little patient of nine months old, Faiza Muneer with critical illness of small gut obstruction was also passed through to kupwara along with his family for treatment.

For this emergency situation, Beacon cleared the entire route which was closed since past two days amidst snowfall within 5 hours after getting clearance from authorities. Five well coordinated teams of beacon were involved in this operation along with two teams from Indian Army.

Due to the high risk of avalanche, porters of beacon and army carried the dead bodies on their shoulders and crossed avalanche zone on foot as it was highly risky for ambulance and vehicle to pass through the avalanche prone areas amidst snowfall.

It was the first time a rescue operation was done at night while snowing and it is a miracle. Not only two families of the deceased but the whole of karnah valley is highly thankful to DC Kupwara, GOC sir, SDM Karnah, 104 Brigade commander, and Beacon for such incredible and tremendous work. People of Karnah salutes these officers.
