District Development Commissioner of Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, today chaired a meeting to review the progress achieved under the Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana (Urban) scheme in the district. The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer Mohammad Khurshid and Executive Officers from the Municipal Committees and Council.
The meeting was informed that against the target of constructing 2155 houses under the scheme, construction of 933 houses has been completed in all respects. The DDC asked the concerned authorities to adopt a mission-oriented approach for successful implementation of the housing scheme. The officials were directed to put in dedicated efforts to meet the set targets.
The meeting also underscored the significance of using quality material in the construction of houses. The DDC made it clear that no laxity would be tolerated in this regard. The progress under PMAY-U is a step towards realizing the goal of providing affordable housing to all.
