8 gamblers held, Rs 71,000 stake money recovered in Jammu city

The Jammu city police has arrested eight gamblers and recovered stake money of Rs 71,000 from their possession yesterday.
Acting on specific information regarding gambling, a police team of Police Station, Nowabad raided a private hotel in Jewel area of Jammu city and arrested eight gamblers along with stake money of Rs 71,000 with playing cards.
The gamblers are young men and all residents of J&K’s Kashmir region.
A case FIR NO. 190/2023 U/S 3, 4 of Gambling Act was registered at Nowabad police station and a probe was initiated.
