79.4% of teenagers between the ages of 14 and 16 who are able to use smartphones report using them for social media in the seven days before the poll, according to the most recent Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) of 2024, which was published on Tuesday.

Twenty homes in each of the thirty randomly chosen villages in each district form the basis of the survey’s sampling. Additionally, it evaluated all children aged 5 to 16 living in the household and polled all children aged 3 to 16. Over time, the sample technique has not changed.
According to the report, 83.9 percent of Jammu and Kashmiri teenagers aged 14 to 16 could use a smartphone, and 93.7 percent had one at home. In addition, 48.5 percent of teenagers between the ages of 14 and 16 said they owned a smartphone.
