7-Year-Old Girl from Eidgah wins Gold Medal in Pencak Silat National Championship

A 7-year-old girl from Jammu and Kashmir has made the union territory proud by winning a gold medal in the Pencak Silat national championship held in Maharashtra.

Khateeba Arshid, hailing from Eidgah in Srinagar, impressed judges with her talent and cuteness.

Khateeba’s mother talking exclusively said that “my daughter was 5 years old when she started playing Pencak Silat. She gave her hundred percent and came back with a good medal. I would like to request everyone to let your children pursue their dreams.”

Pencak Silat is a recognized game in the Sports Regulation Order and is soon to be included in the Olympics. Khateeba’s coach, Mufti Ahmad, said, “We have gained very much success and we are Allamdullah very happy with our achievements.”

As per the details available reads that the 10th National Pencak Silat Championship for the year 2022-2023 was successfully held in Nanded, Maharashtra from January 13th to January 16th, 2023. The event saw participation from various districts across the country, with players from the Srinagar indoor stadium, Ellahi Bagh bagging a total of 10 medals.

“The list of medal winners is as Gold Medalists: Khatiba Arshid, Safaan Qadir, Silver Medalists: Hafsa Asif, Nisha Manzoor, Umi Abiha, Zehran, Konain Abbas, Norain Hilal and Bronze Medalist: Abaan Sajad.”

“The Pencak Silat association and the federation extend their heartfelt congratulations to all the winners, especially the members of the association such as Hafsa Asif, Itibaw, Aksa, Yamin, Nesha, Musadiq, Zehran, and Ahmad who brought home medals.”
