Srinagar, Sep 09 : The 5th annual conference of the Jammu & Kashmir branch of Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists & Leprologists concluded here at SKICC in Kashmir.
The IADVL, Cuticon J&K 2024 conference was held in association with the department of Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy GMC Srinagar from September 7-8 at SKICC, Srinagar with participation of over 150 delegates.
According to a statement issued to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the faculty included both from the UT of J&K & premier institutions of India with scientific program under the theme, “Scientific Strategies and Emerging Trends in Dermatology,” that was aptly reflected in the engaging sessions and discussions taking place over the two days.
The event was dedicated to the memory of late Prof. Qazi Masood Ahmad, who recently passed away.
The inauguration ceremony held on the first day was graced by dignitaries, including National IADVL President Prof Manjunath Shenoy (virtually), Prof GH Hajni, founding head of Department of Dermatology, GMC Srinagar), Prof Bhumesh Kumar Katakam, Honorary Secretary General of IADVL, Prof Iffat Hassan, Principal/Dean GMC Srinagar & patron, Prof Vijay Zawar, immediate past president IADVL, Dr Kavitha SB, honorary treasurer IADVL, Dr Yasmeen Jabeen Bhat, President IADVL J&K & organising chairperson, Dr. Shazia Jeelani, scientific chairperson, Dr. Shuhaab Ud Din Bukhari, treasurer.
On this occasion, besides address by the dignitaries, the conference souvenir and IADVL J& K constitution was released. The IADVL J&K oration was awarded to Prof Sheikh Manzoor and lifetime achievement awards to late Prof Qazi Masood Ahmad & Prof Bhushan Kumar, Ex HOD PGI Chandigarh.
The conference, in addition, featured three IADVL Academy SIG sessions on NTD, Trichology & Dermoscopy, hands-on workshop on botox , fillers and thread lifts. Award paper session with 8 entries, free paper session with 14 entries, and 48 e posters were displayed along with the postgraduate quiz.
The prizes were distributed to the winners of the PG quiz (GMC Jammu on first rank, followed by GMC Srinagar on second & SKIMS MC on third), award papers ( Dr Seerat Fatima, Dr Taiba Tramboo & Dr Mehak Gupta as first, second and third, respectively), e poster presentations ( Dr Abrar Pandit, Dr Junaid Fayaz & Dr Saika Riyaz on first, second & third ranks).
The conference was held successfully and concluded with a felicitation ceremony, honouring the esteemed guests, faculty, and participants
