WhatsApp remains the top free-to-use messenger in India despite facing stiff competition from Telegram and Signal. However, it is also the slowest among its rivals to roll out new features. Telegram regularly introduces a variety of upgrades each month to improve the user experience, while WhatsApp takes its time to add new features. Moreover, some crucial tools are still unavailable on the platform. As 2022 is over, it is very unlikely that we will see WhatsApp adding new features. However, we hope that some new (and crucial) features are rolled out next year.
