At least 40 people, including children, were injured after a footbridge collapsed at Chenani in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. They had congregated on the occasion of Baisakhi fair.
The injured have been shifted to a city health centre in Chenani.
The bridge collapsed due to overloading as large number of people were on it at the time of the accident, Jammu Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar.
There is no causality, he added.
