Three teachers and the driver of the jeep in which they were travelling died as the jeep collided with a truck on the Ferozepur-Fazilka road on Friday morning.
As per reports, 14 teachers had boarded the jeep from Jalalabad for different schools, and the police stated that 11 of them sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
When the jeep was nearing Khai Feme Ke village, it collided with a truck, resulting in the deaths of three teachers and the driver of the jeep on the spot. The remaining teachers sustained injuries from the accident.
The collision was of such force that the windows of the vehicle had to be broken open in order to pull out the driver and teachers from inside.
Locals said the accident took place as the driver of the overloaded jeep tried to overtake the truck.
