As many as 162 sub-inspectors (SIs) of the Haryana Police posted in Rohtak, Jhajjar, Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri districts under the Rohtak police range have been shifted with immediate effect.
The transfers have been made by the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Rohtak range, following directions by the Election Commission of India (EIC) and in compliance with the directions by the Director General of Police in view of upcoming General Election.
Sources said all these police personnel had been posted in these districts for over three years. In its recent directions to the state authorities, the ECI said police sub-inspectors and above should not be posted in their home districts. All those who have completed three years in a district should be transferred out to a police subdivision that does not fall in the same constituency.
After the directions, the state police authorities had directed various ranges/commissionerates to transfer the SIs working at a place for the past over three years. Today’s transfers have come in compliance with it. Out of 162 SIs, 62 were posted at various police stations in Rohtak, 54 in Jhajjar, 34 in Bhiwani and 12 in Charkhi Dadri district, sources added. “The SIs be relieved with the direction to report at their new place of posting. They will retain their lien in their parent unit. However, before relieving them, it may be ensured that by virtue of these transfers, they may not reach their home district. Ensure strict compliance,” said the ADGP in his orders sent to SPs of all four districts.
