Continuing its action against drug menace, Budgam Police has registered 56 cases under NDPS Act, arrested 134 drug peddlers which include 14 hard-core peddlers who have been booked under PIT NDPS Act. Budgam police also attached 03 residential houses under NDPS Act in the district during the year 2024. Moreover illegaly gained properties from proceeds of narco-smuggling worth 1.28 Crore was attached.
Budgam Police have also recovered contraband and psychotropic substances worth 70.53 lacs (value of contraband in black market).
In year 2024 Budgam Police organized 32 awareness programmes and campaigns across the district to educate public about the dangers of drug abuse and to promote a drug free society.
