Under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority and Ladakh Legal Services Authority of UT Ladakh, District Legal Services Authority Leh observed International Womenβs Day on March 8 at Old Age Home Shey.
While addressing the participants, Chairman DLSA Leh, Yashpaul Sharma highlighted the rights of women as enshrined in the Constitution of India and emphasized that gender equity can be achieved only if each and every individual consciously contributes toward the same.
Similarly, Secretary DLSA Leh, Tsewang Phuntsog spoke about the role of Legal Services Institutions.
Advocate, Sonam Yangdol spoke about the rights of women. Dawa of Help Age India also spoke on the occasion.
Also, the speakers on the occasion highlighted the significance and importance of the day.
Munsiff Khaltse, Wangial Tsering; Dr. Abhishekh, Thinlay of Help Age India and staff of the Help Age India and Old Age Centre, staff of DLSA Leh, Para Legal Volunteers, and the Senior Citizens of the Old Age Shey were present.
